Junkyard drb-dog.

"Whacha gonna do with all that junk?" "Brand new junk"

I had an extra 1/2 a chassis in brand new spares from my previous purchase (a lot more than this pic including spare used axles, shocks etc etc.bearings have been installed) and I still have a lot of doubles and triples left over.

That said, I still needed a fair few bits to complete it. Of course the expensive ones like the main lower bulkheads. I've installed 2.0x and 1 degree rear toe for the time being.

So I've 99% completed this chassis. I only need a lower steering arm set to complete it now. Someone who has upgraded to overdose will have one.

I'm also thinking about config. If I run the small 3/4 batteries in this, I can use a central battery location.

But is there really that much difference. Maybe about 20 grams... not worth the holes and hassle.
So I'll leave it normal.

I used a set of Yokomo shocks. (rebuilt with totally new components.)
I'm yet to add the 7 or 10 degree front castor set I have spare. Still undecided there.

I also thought about reversing the chassis. or Color change it?

SSG silver surface graphite chassis and upper deck.
45 degree steering and full titanium turnbuckles.
Blue Alloy components. New and unused from previous upgrades.

Front Ball Diff
FCD 2.0
FCD 1.8
7 Deg alloy Castor Hub
4 Deg plastic Hubs
Rear Setting bars
            RR 3.5 stock
            RR 2.0 +1200
            RR 1.0 with sus-pins
2 sets of stock solid axles for 50:50.
Normal belts and spare belts.
4 sets of Vertex springs as well as original Springs.
1 set of chrome wheels and tyres included +10offset.
and a whole bunch of spurs and extras.
...

A good gift

MAX Attack - Part 2.

It all gets a bit hectic sometimes.

When I'm not out running mm from these guys. The down time during battery charge is usually a much needed break. This Hachi Hachi battle was cool.

Theres a DIB with some unique rear end treatment under here. for positive camber on suspension compression. Food for thought.

No matter what chassis you have. JXR vs TA-06

DIB, VDS or Drift package.

You can always get some good battles in. Today some of the most enjoyable were with this Black Chaser which covers an ARD "CE-R"

The green of my car would lurk in the shadows with it quite well. Of course I don't have any pics of my own driving.

Sometimes you get those Initial D moments.

And sometimes you just need a rest. This is a 1/2 imadoki conversion utilising the shock towers and some other pieces.

A nice array.

Low down! Cool!

Imo-san is always keen for a shot.

I'll end this weeks track battles with a nice shot of a drift package. I love drift i think. It's a lot more fun and a lot less pressure than on-rodd circuit RC for sure.

Mr Photogenic.

Sometimes, there's that one colour scheme that always looks good.

This is a Yokomo DIB with a Yokomo GP Sports G-Master S15  body. One of my favourites for it's Kawabatta-ness. They are actually one of the better handling among Yokomo bodies for drift too. They are near the best in the on-road type races with street bodies.

Anyway. This livery is very good at getting my attention. It filled my lens quite a lot today. I have a longer lens that is really quite necessary for shooting RC.  The cars move so fast, tracking the with a short lens is near impossible.

Big Deep White TE37s are not bashful either.

It just seemed to POP when I was doing other things.

then I'd track it with my new lens. I have to remember to use the focus frames on the camera though... doh!.

S15's are cool! By the way.. In case you didn't hear... the DIB is good. Very good.

MAX Attack - Part 1.

There's something about a pink drift package that is quite hmmm... "girly".

but that's quite ok, because Sayo-chan was giving it a workout.

She was getting the drift from the drift package.

Although the Drift package is quite old it still performs very well. But the ESC is very important in these. Luckily this KN-Kinkaku tuned machine has a Keyence setup also.

But from old to New and even Newer. This is a Tamiya VDF II! the first I've seen in the flesh. Immediately you think... Way too many belts and gears.

On this chassis one of them has already been replaced for some "Ketsukaki" overdrive.

keikyu boys are Tamiya Junkies! Testing... Testing... It's very good nearly straight out of the box ... and has some very serious steering angle.

see more here. VDS v VDF II v TA-06

Don't worry about the body setup yet.

It's usually on the VDS.

This skyline has a middle spec Overdose tuned TA-06 under the R32.

Thanks for the help today!

These 2 TA-06 couldn't be more different. one is CS 2.5x and one is 1.5x both are fast and stable. Perhaps a little too stable for me.

But when the guys were running together they were well matched, speeds were way up there.

When I ran with these guys today. I'm flattening my line to stay fast... It's not how I like to run.

But I had immense fun anyway. That's drift. Adjust to who's running and get maximum slide by slide-ability.

When those super close transitions work. It's super cool!

This R31 Skyline wears a full overdose DRB underneath. I lit his imagination with a lend of some alignment bars today. he has the bug.... ps... thanks for the sticker.

more to come in part 2.

RE-Xtreme - Team Blue

Look into my deep blue eyes.

This chassis is performing very very well. I love it. fast and controllable. But I still love the challenge of the 1.8cs green machine.

Lights are a little too blue.  I changed the headlights to blue, but the blue + blue tint is too dark. It doesn't look good now. I may take the paint off the headlights for better effect.  You may also notice many paint chips on these rims. looking a bit ragged, but repairable.

I used it a lot!

but overall, It's still looking awesome. when the two cars are together they look great.

in action, it's very nice indeed.

Yamada-san is piloting here.

here you can see the lights have changed a little. they don't match anymore.

which is a little disappointing because last week they looked perfect!

But bad... no way! This is amazing!
