I got sick of the body pins going here there and everywhere, so this is the result. Stay.... Great!

Apexi FD RS
The all black scheme became a bit bland so I used the red chrome D1 stickers to brighten it up a bit. I also got some Red chrome GT-V rims from another source

Advan RS FD Rx7 in the Sun.
Here is the first shots of the working Midnight drifter. I cut the front really low to include a splitter effect. It only scrapes sometimes. But the look is worth it. Almost looks like a replica of the Craft Company car.
Redy for action.

Vertex Ridge Apexi Advan RS Update
This is a test showing of the Advan RS Wheels directly after painting and light install.
Check out RE-Xtreme II for real my Advan RS craziness
Yokomo Vertex Ridge FD3s Rx7 - Apexi
Here is the key inlement in the project. Still no RE-Amemiya FD so the next best thing was the Vertex Apexi D1 version. I actually like the styling a little better than the RE-A one.
RE-Amemiya Active Lights
Here are the RE-Amemiya Active Light Cups. Nice chrome inserts will set off the new project.
To go inside these I got the Yokomo Active light kit. It has only 10 lights including hazards so I bought an extra 2 for the headlights. There is still 2 empty holes in the "Park Light" section.
When the car stops Hazard lights come on. When the car is running the random light flashes blink more quickly.
Advan RS
The Advan RS from Yokomo were the next purchase. These are part of a new combo.
In the pack with Yokomo Drift Tyres to be fitted

ABC Hobby Rx7
As my initial purchase of the AE86, I couldn't wait for the RE-Amemiya body. I bought this ABC Hobby Version and gave it a nice racing stripe. Looks great with the CE28N. I cut the body a little higher as the yokomo chassis was not exactly right. I left more meat and it created a bit of a BN Sports look.

Tamiya Super Stock TZ
As another part of my initial purchase I got this TZ tamiya motor. Its a 23T for more torque and servicable. Not that I have yet.
In the states these are about $50 but almost all basic motors in Japan are about 3000yen. Cheap
Super Stock Motor TZ
A high torque motor designed for endurance race or low speed track.
Can be disassembled for maintenance.
Blue anodized end bell with brush dampers.
Features terminal heat sink and detachable chip capacitor.
23 turn motor
Usable voltage: 7.2V
R.P.M. at best efficiency: 26,500rpm (7.2V)
Torque at best efficiency: 500g-cm (7.2V)
JRM certified motor.
Battery
As part of the initial purchase I picked up 2 of these batteries. Low cost to see if I had time for the RC car and prevent cost blowout.
Sanwa Blazer
This is the method of control. The only mod being a D1 sticker. For an entry level RC it's not bad. It has drive rate adjust, servo reverse and end point adjustment (have to do that one day)
It also came with a speed control. But since I upgraded to better batteries, that has stopped working for some reason. Maybe melted something after running longer. It's my next upgrade but it has me thinking about 2.4ghz /Lipo and Brushless at the same time, so I think I'll be without reverse for a while.

Completed
Here is the completed beast, Rather than go for one colour on the body, I decided for a more traditional Black and White AE86 Scheme.

The Box
I went to get an RE-Amemiya Rx7 as the first car... No stock. Grrr. So I got the droop Espelir Ae86 2door Trueno
Im no slouch at assembly so it was soon together.
Yokomo's instruction are easy as pie. But you can get the Drift Master pre built if you want.
