RC Drift QLD - Dioramatic

EVO in the HOUSE!  & The HOUSE IS GREAT!

The guys at RC Drift QLD have an ultimate display case.

Such an awesome place

To display my expensive body on my super cheap chassis.

For great shots.

Some S15s

It was also one of the last days on the concrete.

With the test track already ... P Tile.

We savoured some RX7 madness.

And you never know whats underneath any body.

Yokomo RE-Xtreme RC DRB-REW (Rear Evolution Weight-Shift)

Still rocking out!

Remember I designed this in December 2015... 10 years ago!.  I would definitely say the layout was way ahead of it's time.

RE-Xtreme DRB-REW Comeback

The RE-Xtreme RC  DRB-REW chassis conversion was produced about 8 years ago and I produced close to 50 kits.

The REW is Rear-Wheel-Drive Evolution Weight-Shift and while the high battery helps in this regard.

The main focus was rear traction to keep up with CS cars on the same tyre and create enough steering lock to prevent spinning on the very basic gyros of the day.

Honestly, this was one of the first RWD chassis in this layout that is now pretty standard.

We had near Zero grip on our GCRC polished concrete surface so I needed to get as much of the weight rearward without the too much weight effecting steering.

And also allow the user converting their old chassis with enough flexibility to use whatever conversion parts up front. Wide track, Wipers, Slide racks, Dual Servo, Front Mount Servo, Middle servo, left right. etc.

So when a friend bought this back into our group, I was excited to see what components were used.

Wrap up next recommended items and alloy y arms with OD extended ball ends give this a great amount of lock. and not much bump steer.

I offered to help another friend who acquired a set of chassis plates that had been produced by Bezerk RC directly. (you can still get them) albeit without screws etc.

So this is the multi-piece set that spins your chassis and opens up the front.

All my DRBs were converted much like this one although this one holds a challenge without the type 2 front uprights.

I think I got this pretty close to a working machine but there's a few key items this one needs to loose it's true CS like a Diff/Spool and some front knuckles.

These chassis still perform very well with a few friends still hounding my tuned YD2s.

Still proud i put in the efforts.

GCRCD 2017 03 07 - Blast & Chassis Check.

At the end of a steady session, there was some chassis checking going on...

The latest addition at GCRCD is an SPL Made Full Yokomo YD-2 ...

but there's a whole lot more to compare.

GCRCD - RWD Chassis Mix

Hey what chassis is that?

While most of these start as plastic entry level chassis, once the tuning bug takes over... they become barely recognizable.
