I got a new magazine RADI - DRI --- no thats a miss-spelling on the front cover. It's a Japanese magazine. Radi-Dori and explains the new phenomenon of full counter drift leading to the intoduction of the new D-Max drift package.
It seems everyone want's to have full counter steer and less forward pull from the front wheels allowing more authentic drifting. It hasn't really been explained to beginners properly until this book.
Basically... you need a solid axle that makes the rear wheels turn faster than the front. In most cases 1.5~2.0 times faster.
This will stop the power on / off and over/under/neutral/under/over etc rubbish from 4wd drifts. effectively making the drift package more rear wheel drive biased.
Theory says that I should now be able to brake into the corner and then full counter and full accelleration to my desired exit point.
Kazama and others already had replacement parts but they are a bit pricey.
When recently Yokomo released theirs and It has actually started a bit of a rush on parts. Especially for the 1.5 standard version. SOLD OUT!
So rather than buy this... 1.5x Standard Fixed Axel set. I had to build my own from the three separate sections. same price. It's already installed but I'm still to try it out.
Stay tuned for more action next week when i try to get used to the new setup. I'm expecting a big change.
Russ.
