2018 10 body and chassis Checkpoint
SA22C hides a Kazama GSX-R chassis conversion for Yokomo Drift Package
capable but always a test bed.
Steering lock is typical Drift package wipers + extensions helped by MST knuckle setup.
That gives 70+ degrees of lock with rear central shock mounting for enhanced roll centre movement.
other than that it's pretty stock and is a flexible machine.
A quick change can see VIP style,
Lexus ISF-Sport giving an elevated image.
this chassis can also be turned into a short wheel base item very quickly.
Now at the other end of conversions for the Yokomo Drift Package is this beast..
This is a D1 style machine that runs very well at the high end.
adequate lock and grip galore, it also is accentuated by a linked suspension setup that links the roll centre to weight shift adjustment.
nervis motor mount and my own upper deck enhances the overdose feel.
50% heavier than the Kazama machine is this full overdose Conversion plus a bunch of Wrap up, active and my own design items.
70degree, lock enables those big entries.
belcranks link the rear suspension.
Silver is the theme.
RX7 takes the D1 Sl level machine but does everything well.
Lock and balance is great. resulting from an evolution over the last 7 years.
With most of the weight over the rear, balancing that is the key.
Adding a driver and seat means corner weighting is necessary.
This chassis actually spends a lot of time at big angle, I love it.
What's next... Maintenance.
