RC Drift QLD is not really the place. Speed is too fast. 

Same as 1/10 which means over twice as fast as comparable scale speed.  Try somewhere else soon. 

RE-Amemiya D1GP Greddy FD

 

Aoshima's RE-Amemiya D1GP Greddy FD is finished in orange.

1/24 scale. Built way too long ago. But still needed a splitter. 

While RE-Amemiya use white Enkei RPF1 a lot, I think the TE-37 look much more suitable. 

Drift Art Body Body Body

Mounting more bodies onto the DA4. 

RE-Xtreme V2 Replica brings back memories.  

If I were judging the quality of these builds, they are about 6/10, but I will say building on the floor in a small box Japanese apartment without any tools did have it's own drawbacks.  

The RE-Xtreme V3 replica is mounted also. This one I need to revisit and fit the RE-A lights and few extras and redo panel lines.

Other bodies mounted include this CWest kitted version.

My Missile Greddy 9 soon to get a full livery. 

And I took the DA4 to the P-Tile... Too fast. Not fun or useful because it's Just full throttle everywhere. and you would have no chance of tandem. I was doing tandem with 1/10 cars. which is just stupid. 

I'll stick to my uneven tiles in my house. Slow and reactive.  

Drift Art DA4 Mounts

 

Finally got some magnet body mounts to complete the machine. 

And this is how the BM Hobby Rims look. Team Tetsujin inspired for sure.  

Wheel nuts are relatively large. will need to find something smaller. not that 4.5mm is small , but in relative terms. other parts are way smaller.

Just using some old plastic prints to make a track.

I don't need much space. 

I was able to swap a bunch of bodies already. and now I look at them again, I want to rebuild them all. 

Some have already got a chop here and there. 

testing larger diameter alloy wheels and other settings. The 22mm diameter makes a huge difference to top end / as wheelspeed contact patch is way up. and these have no rounded edges so grip is tricky.

Also tried this Mark 2 lexan body. super light weight makes a real difference to handling. but I like the heavy bodies as they tend to load up the suspension a bot more.  

All a learning curve. 

Drift Art DA4

 Drift Art DA4 1/24 Scale RC Drift Chassis

So what are we looking at...  The chassis is a 1/24 Scale RC drift chassis by the company Drift Art. The model is DA4.

Take all the 1/10 drift knowledge and cram it into a small package. In some ways it's even more friendly. Adjustable ackerman. Adjustable wheel base, Flexible install positions. Adjustable track etc etc. 

This is how the chassis comes pre-assembeled, however without wheels, and battery etc. . 

The DA-4 uses Kyosho MiniZ 4WD wheel style and these are 20mm rims from the company BM Hobby. they are similar to Tetsujin adjustable offset wheel rims. 

I have others but the 22mm rims suit a larger car like a R35 GTR 

once these were fitted I moved onto fitting this to the way I needed. The motor can be facing forward / Reverse, rear motor or front motor. with fully adjustable position. 

The Servo is a Drift Art rebranded item and the Standard DA4 mount I changed to a more solid mounting as recommended by the community.   

The RC Surpass, Rocket RC Drift Spec 5500 motor is as big as your little finger. and I matched this to a RC Surpass Kiwami  ESC that is proving to be super smooth. 

Once this was installed, I started the basic wiring. I have a GT55 Racing Gyro inbuilt into the GT55 Racing receiver combo. This should be part of 1/10 systems. This also is super easy to setup and install. I matched this to a hard case GensAce 2s 7.4V 400mah battery. Run time seems ok for now. 

The only thing I didn't realize in my order was the fact that the body mounts are not supplied. I couldn't wait, so I made my own 3d printed velcro mount for the time being. 

And what a useful item these are due to the fact I have soo many bodies. it's probably better initially. as I've already mounted 3 and started playing.

And this one just happened to be the first I ripped off the plastic models I have. 

And yes... I have a more than a few. 

into the 70 odd. no 2 alike. 

While they usually sit in a small diorama. With many more still in boxes. It's soo good now to see these moving and drifting.

I collected most of them in Japan when the cost was around 1100~1300yen. So they aren't a big invest. And others were from sooo long ago. Even from when I was in my teens. 

Others were gifts so I'm happy to run doors and share these around. 

And yes. There are some friends with these too. 

And we wont be limited to just Rx7s. the beauty of the plastic models is the variety. 

the even more scale aspects are much more detailed than the 1/10 world and the 3d printing capabilities mean I'm transitioning to an additional hobby that again blurs the things I have loved from an early age.
