BROZ Friendly Battles

FD back on the YD2 RX. Wow this feels good with this body. A bit more up front downforce and it turns in pretty nice also. Amazing what true downforce does.

YD2 SXIII battle partner. So great runs.

Im liking these Raijin S15.

They are a good Scale body.

Monster A90 solved some inconsistency. I guess letting the front of the body drag on the ground isn't really the best.  Raised it up and feels amazing now.

Ken vs Daigo was pretty equal.

BROZ Comp

Broz Comp is a precursor to an Easter adventure

Many entries trying out the Broz event.

I had the guys line up in the down time for some photos.

I tried both my Yd2 RX and Yd2 REX Plus chassis with the latter getting chosen.

the RX just was a bit more challenging to drive and with the 86 having the shorter overhangs, it was the silver 86 on track.

Getting the feel for the surface. I don't drift that often anymore, so it takes time to get back to speed.

Jay also going the YD2 with SXII on track

Practice.

Local and interstate drivers.

old guns.

setting a line

After 2 mistakes killing my qualifying runs. I started at the bottom. While there was no chance of getting to the top with the comp split into 2 immediately.

I was able to have very tight and enjoyable battles taking 2nd in the lower group.

There was just one thing that made the day less enjoyable with the schedule for the comp spread over 8 hours meaning I couldn't stay until the end.

YD-2 x2 @ BROZ 2022 Final

Small gathering to end the year.

Shout out to Steve for keeping the QLD RC drift scene alive and well.

Some great street battles.

Today was the first time i bought new tyres in many years. and what a difference.

Definitely good fun playing with the extra grip . MST Silver is good match for the surface

Photos missed the 99% door on door action.  My YD2-"REX" is still finding it's sweet spot.

there was a lot of pushing.

The YD2 RX (blue FD3s) is now performing very well indeed.

Putting the controller down to take pics. I was mostly "Burrowed Deep" in between the fail crew. I didn't intentionally leave my shell at home.

It' good when you see these together. or alone.

Good spacing.

RE--YD2-RX Drops @ BROZ!

So how does the pre built and pre-setup RX drive... Different and Awesome!

Mounted under the CA* S14, Just as you'd expect, traction is premium. definitely the focus of the RX in on moving forward with rear squat. But even at decent angle, the drive overcomes the front grip deficit.

Transitions... they do come a little slower with the weight behind the rear wheels, but you can swing from big angle to big angle with a smooth confidence.

Hang time is real.

I look forward to playing with the motor position a little and trying a new body next year.

My other YD2-REX was setup with some new R31 house Work CR-11R that match very well. Still able to snapily throw this one around at big angle.

So it's great to have two machines that drive very differently.

Let's see what the RX brotherhood brings.

YD2-REX Shakedown @ Broz

Shakedown @ Broz.

Or is it Akina-san.

The track is looking great these days.

But what about the YD2. Basically. The fist setting didn't have enough lock.  So an adjustment in front toe started to see improvement, then a front track change and more camber server mixed results.

It's not far away from a solid setup. Very fast, very slidy, but it just needs to be a little more stable.

Until next time... Let's think of how to improve.
