Back Fat.

Fd was tried all over as the ZX still not what I want. A mix of all my old Electrical gear, needs a bit of repurposing. 

But there were some fun laps somewhere. 

 The difference between +3 and +5 really is a lot. 

I love the look of the NT-03, but I'll keep them for street drift. 

or grass. it seemed quite at home here. hahaha.

Wheel Size?

 

RC wheels are things we love... But what size is too big or too small?

On the S13.. I think the 17" size look good.

But these days with 20 rims on the rear, maybe a mix is best. What do you think?

ZX RX TESTS

 YD2 Test Time but first lets run the RX Red and Black Twins 

These chassis are so fun fun because they are se stable and so equal. really fun tandems. 

The S14s are a bit dark. but when they are together they look great. 

Small details are lost in the colour scheme. 

the other chassis under the Supra is the YD-2 ZX. Im chasing a gyro issue in the ZX that I think is caused by play in the slide rack. but that process of elimination continues.  

Its Still extremely good and once that inconsistency is eliminated. It will be pretty unbeatable.  

RX to ZX

I love the YD2 RX I have. Super Stable and very Fast. But there are times when you need that little more Aggression. I like to think that the RX is perfect Lead Run Competition Car. but in the chase... it's just lacking. 

So I decided to convert my 2nd RX to ZX configuration. 

4 parts. Required

1. Gearbox Case is the necessity $20

2. Motor Mount $35 but could probably run the original in reverse. 

2. Upper Deck is Optional item of course. $25 

4. Upper Deck 2 Gearbox mount. $10

gearbox swaps easy. a couple of extra screws were needed.

The result is almost the same, but just that little different. 

Spur Clearance is close so some modification is required.  Without replacing the RX chassis plate to ZX. The battery remains a few mm back.

I decided to mount the ESC on top of the chassis. using the Fan mount and a custom Carbon piece.

Starting to wire up old electronics.

The upper deck is a slightly more complex design (left). I really need some new wire but for now its enough.

Broz New Year Battles

Welcome to 2023. 

A trip to "Broz" for a skills check.  

Machine is the YD2 RX which is definitely my current favourite. 

I spent many a lap chasing and being chased by Mr Cool S13 full detailed replica.  

I swapped to yokomo 6 spoke rims for the first time. I've had these wheels for so long but never run them. 

Under the S13 is actually my old Overdose / Wrap Up next Drift Package. Still ripping. 

The FD may receive an external paint job. not liking the blue at the moment. Flat black or matt yellow may be the go. 

I tried to take some pics with my 14 year old Canon DSLR. it's on it's last legs. the screen is black at the edges. some of the lenses don't auto focus anymore. Martin and I both struggled with pics. 

but we still managed a few.
