RC Drift QLD - Session

A 3 hour session still feels short.

But we managed some awesome laps.

I had to switch to white rims for my tired old man eyes.

So these yokomo 6 spoke in 17"/18" versions did the trick.

Keeping my favourite Yokomo was a good choice.

Good battles.

My Sakura D6 also just as good in a different way. Stay tuned for completed mistubishi pics.

Body Swaps

The Supra has been sitting on the RX but I wanted to switch to the FD.

So the long process off taking the supra off the rx and re-offsetting everything for the FD3s be

The result was good. but the ESC switch gave me trouble.

These shots of the fd were the last 5 minutes of a three hour session.

YD2-REX Shakedown @ Broz

Shakedown @ Broz.

Or is it Akina-san.

The track is looking great these days.

But what about the YD2. Basically. The fist setting didn't have enough lock.  So an adjustment in front toe started to see improvement, then a front track change and more camber server mixed results.

It's not far away from a solid setup. Very fast, very slidy, but it just needs to be a little more stable.

Until next time... Let's think of how to improve.

YD2-REX Shakedown Ready

The YD2 is ready for a session. so the body is mounted up and the girls are in.

Weigh balance by WW ladies. The chassis is tested on the house tiles and seems very forgiving.

Added some custom canards and a few old stickers... maybe temporary.

RC Return?

Here is a simply project that took way too long...

Lack of motivation is a real problem in RC right now for me.

and I think it basically comes down to cost / performance.

Even this tamiya body plus Demi Works kit plus a few cans of paint ends up around $250AUD.

That's way too much. As the AUD is so weak. I balk at any RC parts purchase especially from Japan + postage.

While my PC simulator receives 1 hour a day... the RC hobby gets about 1 hour per month.

We shall see if that changes in the future. but at the moment... the VR world is winning.

RE-Xtreme DRB-REW Dial in.

Setting up a new chassis that pushes the limits takes some time.  This is especially true for RWD.

Whether it be a Plastic Drift Package. or a high end machine. They all have their little tricks that are needed.

Converting a chassis from 4WD to RWD means changing a lot of components or modifying. I'm doing a little of both.

RE-QUAD6-7 Update#6 Light

When all those long hours add up... and you get close to the end of a project... It starts to give rewards.
