Axle Overdose

My Tamiya TA-Zero-Roku had a little issue. So I've upgraded the rear to an Overdose rigid rear axle

The drive cup protectors are cool too!

Although the drive cups are plastic, I think this is a solid solution with the square joint allowing maintenance without removal and eliminates play.

Installed. Pretty. I so much happier now that the Eagle Racing junk is gone.

Overdose spring holders and my custom body mount. I am laying the springs over for a bit less early compression. Upside down for that minute weight advantage

Pan Speed FC sticker set

Printed the Pan Speed stickers today.

Masks are ready for cutting on the plotter too ... Wait... but a little progress is better than none.

A bit busy at the moment on other design work.

But I can't wait to get into this... I'll be masking and painting the leaves from orange to red, but I may eliminate the small "pan speed" background logo's just too fidley and they have no real effect on the outcome. We shall see how keen I become... I'm worried the second masking layer will rip off the paint.

Hmmm.

Eagle Rac ung ung ing

I'll show you a pay for what you get post.

I'm about to swap out my Eagle Racing Rigid Rear Axle. 2500yen with bearings. Cheap!

I thought there would be nothing wrong with buying the cheaper version. I mean, it's just a straight axle.
Hmmm. WRONG!

I've already had it fall apart in the gear case, but now the drive cups are deformed to the point where there is another 2mm of play in the rear at the shaft. At the wheel that translated to about 10 mm or more on each side.

Believe me, after only maybe 8~10 hours of running, the metal is super soft and it has all but broken.

Eagle Racing = HUNK OF JUNK!   I don't recommend this stuff.

The design is inherently bad. these pins sit under the bearing.

Look at the play in here.

Look at the wear on the pin holes. you can see it's been trashed.

So add it up.

Play at the main shaft, play at the drive cup was up to about 5 degrees. Play left and right also = rubbish!

The front one way bearing is so stiff also. I will eventually have to replace this too as funds allow.

Spend double to begin with and save yourself time and hassle.

Max One Drift Style

I had a very hard choice for the top shot on this article. But my FD simply looks SUPER COOL!

I started my track day with my DRB and RWB FD. Check how low I have it now. +9 Miesters! I think Nakai-san would approve of the stance!

However this setting is a little strange. I usually run +12 on the rear so it's a little twitchy. I WAS happy today as my Kazama light set suddenly started working... Yes!

but the rear is sooo bright it's like a jet! maybe I should tint the rear lights.

Imo-san's AE86 arrived and as usual was side by side all day. Welcome!

But then it was TA-06 time. I installed the MAD WIDE "Shakotan" MONSTER FD and took some photos. I LOVE this body. Yokomo Vertex FD3s + ABC hobby "Works" Over-fender set and my design graphics.

I hooked up the exhaust and I was just taking some shots and i certainly got attention. The other guys joining me for an impromptu photo shoot.

 ONLY @ MAX ONE!

I'm sorry I didn't catch this visitor's name, but it was fun running in triple and quad drift. Chance circuit style Chaser.

 I was playing around on the camera too. F1.8 50mm and a (the cheapest) Canon X50 DSLR.  

Yamada-san offered to take some pics, this one was cool! but asked him to drive and I took some great shots as I'm familiar with my camera.

As a fellow TA-06 runner, he had no problem sticking my FD in the perfect position.

I love the way the rear lights shine on the exhaust!!! My T.A.ZERO-ROKU is pretty noisy. the Eagle Racing  rear axle is Junk! the drive cups are already chewed and there is so much play. 1/2 price is 1/2 as good.

Please buy the Overdose item!

Anyway, I was getting some good angles.

Sometimes you turn around and notice something. Even though this is a little out of focus. I love it!

I then jumped back in the DRB. I really love this chassis.

It just works very well.

I know how difficult it is to apply this stuff and keep the pattern in tact. this really is a wonderful job.

Tamiya body is just right.

But the contrast is amazing.

Style Overdose!

If you are into RC cars, then a good setting board is essential. A nice flat surface with a few important measurements is essential.

Weld take it to the next level! A very limited item in black anodised alloy with machined surface really is the perfect place. Each serial number is different and if you are lucky you get your desired number. For the money, they are not cheap but very special.

But some, like this one are even more special. MAX ONE owner, Yamada-san's full overdose DRB look s right at home.

A variation on the Need for Speed Supra and D-Mac Rotary 86 with an inbuilt Hinomaru

Not exactly sure how it will turn out, but something like this to get more association with Japan.
