RE-Xtreme Tsunami 86 debut in MAX ONE

Here it is... 100% complete. Well... maybe.

Things were a bit tense in the beginning as with any new car at shake down.

But I think you'll agree, this is freaking HOT!

The rear exhausts are too bright... even after a lot of tinting. I think I'll disconnect them.

The fenders on this car are spot on. no rubbing even with my +12 and 3mm spacer.

I'm running it about 1mm higher than the other body. I didn't need to trim anything.

This image is insane.

The ADVAN logos on the tyres look the part too.

It's very "C1" shutoko racer style.

Today at Max One, Yamada-san had changed the layout. It's a bit more technical. (as in slow) but everyone gets a feel for it.

Iishida-san and Yamada-san going at it.

It's fun to watch but of course I joined in too.

and more.

and more challengers on the track, getting the feel for it. Many people are practicing for a "SHAFT NIGHT" with drift packages.

See if you can spot anything different in these images.

It's easy to see...

well... maybe not..

This is the money shot.

Driver at work...

OK, well the first change are the second set of wheels. these SA-55M look AWESOME!

Yes AMAZING! but what's that on the bonnet...

you can almost see it here.

The WRX STI bonnet scoop is perfect for the 86. It's just double sided taped on right now, but it will be recessed and carboned. I like it.

I  love this shot!

Anyway, as expected these wheels didn't last long as I clashed wheels with Yamad-san on many occasions as we went at it side, by side. This is NOT from crashing.

So that was the first half of the day... the next post will have even more...

Tsunami 86 - Update #10 Final... Lights

OK, so this was the final step before placing the emblem on the car.

Just a slight issue with the rear... WTF? I added a heap of smoke after this but these TN Racing rear mufflers with LED are still way to bright. FIRE!!!!!!! TAKE OFF!!!!

HAHAHA

Anyway... No time... so I'm off to the track...

Tsunami 86 - Update #9 Wheel Options

It's always a tough choice for me with wheels. I have about 4 sets I use with a single body.

These En Route WedsSport SA55M are very very cool.

Ive added these stickers for now. but they usually don't last long in practice.

I also have these chrome blue Option no1 wheels that look super horn also. And then theres the Kazama FXR.

Tomorrow I'm hoping to find someone to run a little tandem with the red body also. The blue N-Model will be the main wheel for the blue car... maybe... maybe.

Ready for debut.

Tsunami 86 - Update #8 Check Point

Well, 90% complete... Reinforcing and a few minors like the mirrors.

I added so much I need to take these shots to step back and look at what else I need.

Stance is perfect. no rubbing on this one either.

The overall effect is great.

Rear still needs the toyota badges and a few small stickers. TN Pipes are cool!

No grill sticker yet. I was going to do FMIC, but I decided the Subaru mailbox will go on. maybe next week.

The mirrors i have are craft square items. The URAS style fenders are cool.

I'm not sure which looks better, the red or blue, but they are cool.

Here's the colour in the sun. Its transparent blue with a silver backing. It's not quite as shiny as the altlas chrome, but the adhesion is much better.

Grill sticker is attached in this pic. but no toyota badge yet. Thats the completion detail right?

The wing mounts really fatten the rear.

 The rear view is great.

Hopefully the banana style will give me the extra clearance i need when running the wall at 45 degrees

Here is the top view.

And a wheel in action. "Rays RE-86"

Tsunami 86 - Update #7 decals and lights

OK, well the wraps are off and the stickers are on.

here is the bare shell without lights.

Light buckets I did a little differently this time. I used tint and then put most of the stickers behind the lexean buckets for extra depth. For LED buckets on the rear, I just Shoe-gooed a bit of straw for the rear lights. I use this on the red body effectively for all lights.

The front I wanted more projection. I used eagle plastic plug in mounts which are simple. the result is WAY more light than before. I'm running White in the eye and blue in the fogs. I have the red lights spare so I'll hook them up to the LED section of the fronts when I have time to solder.

front

Rear. I also have some TN Racing titanium rear exhausts with lights.... but the orange LED are so bright they look a bit dumb. So I'll smoke them over.

AE86 dash is curvy beast. so I built my own. just cut some lexan and build up a base of double sided tape. then lay your sticker over the top

The car also has a full Bride 86 interior decal set on the doors..

What do we think? cool!

Tsunami 86 - Update #6 Print and Wheel

I decided to print the graphics set for the 86 in preparation for the final black detail color to go on the body. it included a few details.

I'm pretty happy with my print colour match too for the background. I've created my own RAYS RE-86 wheel with the Nismo style "N"-Model from Topline.

The result is nothing but amazing! Mounted with RC926 DT-05 tyres.

Sitting on the Samurai 86 they look good great.

Test print was good.

So I have cut and trimmed the sticker set ready for application as quickly as possible. My second set of wheels look great too. these are not as wide though at +9.

SA-55M are insane on the car too. I still have the kazama Blue and a set of option no1 blue chrome wheels also.

Tsunami 86 - Update #5 Widening

Yes, It's gonna be insane! I'm loving the look of the rear wing and the Mailbox might just be fitted...

It's a nice little feature to break up the expansive bonnet. But it may be good in carbon. I'm not happy with the finish yet on the blue parts. they need another gallon of clear to get the thickness to match the body. I took a peek under the protection... its cool!

Weds SA-55 looking the best choice... to add silver "machining" or not?

But Model 5 look good too... actually they look great on the red version that I did some repair work on today.
